First Christian Preschool invites you to join us to learn more about our 2-year, 3-year and Pre-K Preschool Programs, on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at 10:00am. RSVP to FCS Admissions at email@example.com.
First Christian School’s Preschool Program is an academic preschool, not a childcare center. Throughout the year, the children are introduced to age appropriate explorations that grow and strengthen each child in their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical developments. Each classroom builds on each other, all moving toward Kindergarten readiness. The following skills are concentrated on in each individual classroom:
Develop an attention span of 30 minutes through circle time and meal times, follow a multiple command, write name, identify full written name, sequencing, rhyming, opposites, 1 to 1 correspondence, tracing letters and numbers, recognize letters and numbers 1 to 10, say the alphabet (not sing), draw shapes, beginning sounds, repeat a sentence, identify body parts, draw a complete person, cut in a straight line, draw between 2 lines, stack blocks at least 3 high, hop on 1 foot, recite birth date/age/address/phone, throw and catch a ball, walk on a balance beam, cooperate with others, take turns, problem solve, ask for help without crying or getting mad, memorize memory verses and pray.
All families interested in placement in our Preschool must contact our Admissions Office at 707-253-7226 x146 or firstname.lastname@example.org to verify availability of space. Some classrooms have a waiting list. To be placed on the waiting list, you will be given a tour of the facility and asked to pay a non-refundable fee of $50.00. Once a spot is confirmed, parents will meet with the Director for a second interview. Classroom placement may require further assessment and FCS reserves the right to make a final placement decision.
“When our son finished Pre-K, we knew he was ready for Kindergarten. His teachers were kind and passionate, but serious about preparing the students for their next step academically and socially. Our son has grown so much in the year he spent in Pre-K. He is fluent in his alphabet, knows letter sounds, numbers, can count up to 50, knows his address and phone number and SO MUCH MORE! Most importantly, his spirit was nurtured and it helped him to have other adults reinforce what we are teaching at home. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend First Christian School to prepare your child for Kindergarten.” E. Rosburg
